Family History of Samson

I am doing research on my family called Samson that lived in and around Tenterden.

They used the Presbyterian church for christenings etc

Is this church still there?

What about its parish records?

What is the earliest church of the village that preceeded this, and is there any chance its records have been kept?

Thanks for your time.

    Hello Karen

My Gt x 2 Grandfather James Brunger (1801 to 1885) married Mary Samson dau of Thomas Samson of Woodchurch and my Gt x 3 Uncle James Brunger (1778 to ?) married Sarah Samson of Woodchurch, I believe that Mary Samson’s Father was a brother to Sarah.

Mention of at least James and Sarah can be found in the Presbyterian Baptism records.

The Presbyterian Church is still there. If you google Tenterden Unitarian you will find a lot of info. It is a very early non-conformist church.

    Regards

    Eric Brunger
